Symbols and abbreviations used in the database
Thread size (dD)
dD = average thread diameter in 10 micrometres · dD 100 = 1 mm, dD 10 = 0.1 mm
- Ø mm
- The diameter in millimetres: dD divided by 100.
- 20 : 1
- The line next to each value shows the size. All lines are drawn in the same proportion – a line twice as thick means a thread twice as thick.
- No longer produced
- The thread is no longer made. It stays in the database because it still turns up in collections and old patterns.
